Description1. Limestone quarries developed to provide stone for Blaenavon Ironworks. DJP 07/10/94. (See nprn 91634 for balance shaft)
2. Large quarries cut into steep hillside overlooking the Tumble. Approx 300m long, 50-100m wide and 50m deep with vertical cut sides to S. Two types of rock, that to upper half in seams.

3. Several phases of quarrying. To W, adjacent to footpath, is a face approx 40m long and 15-20m high with spoil and rubble in front Site visited, 2000.06.15/H&H/WH.
4. A coastal quarry serving the trade over to Devon and Cornwall via the partially extant slides down to the beach. Operative in the C17-20.
