Description
The first Tabernacle Methodist Chapel (NPRN 97176) was built in 1828 to the design of architect Richard Humphreys of Dyffryn. The chapel was then rebuilt on this new site in 1864 and renovated in 1910. The present chapel, dated 1864, is built in the Simple Round-Headed style of the gable-entry type. Tabernacle is cut into the hillside and has a flight of steps leads up from the pavement to a 4-bay gabled facade with radiating tracery in the windows. The chapel closed in 1988 and has since been converted into flats, but the building is still Grade 2 Listed as a prominent feature of Aberdyfi townscape.
