Bethel Methodist Chapel was built in 1829 and rebuilt in 1868. The present chapel, dated 1868, is built in the Mixed Sub-Classical and Simple Gothic style of the gable-entry type.

Charles Ellis, Architect, of Aberdyfi, was employed to make alterations to the interior and exterior of the building.  Extensive drawings are included in the Ellis Collection, dating from 1920 and 1922.
