The Welsh Baptist cause in Llynfaes began around 1831 and the chapel was completed in 1833. The present Belan baptist Chapel is a basic hipped-box structure built in the Vernacular style with flat-headed windows. The chapel was enlarged in 1850 by the addition of a house to the rear and again in 1900 when the present porch was added.
