DescriptionBedlinog is a small village located in the Taff Bargoed Valley 10 km north of Pontypridd. Its industrial origins were in the later nineteenth century with the development of the local coal industry, though quarrying prior to this is suggested by early maps. The village developed around Lower Bedllwynog. It was surrounded by coal mines with nearly all jobs related directly to coal mining, but all the mines are now closed.
