By 1851 the congregation of Penucheldref Methodist Chapel were meeting in a building erected in 1839 but not used exclusively as a place of worship. A chapel was built in 1877, rebuilt in 1906 and rebuilt again in 1957. The later chapel was built in the Sub-Classical/Simple Round-Headed style of the gable entry type. Penucheldref chapel closed in 1998.
