DescriptionNAR SH58SE5
A later Prehistoric type walled settlement enclosure is set against the base of a craggy ridge. There are other settlement features close by to the west.
This is a near square enclosure about 36m by 32m, defined by a low bank of stones and by a modern field wall on the north. It encloses two roundhouses, 8.0m and 10m in diameter, and a rectangular building, 5.0m by 4.0m, rests within its western wall. These are all defined by stone walls 1.1-2.0m thick.
Some 16m to the west is a rectangular stone walled structure, 8.0m by 4.2m. Immediately beyond this are traces of an 8.0m diameter roundhouse with a rectangular structure attached on the north-east.
Settlements such as these have often produced Roman material.
