Description1. "Lost " woollen mill implied by Llandderfel Tithe Award Map (1838).
2. A woollen factory is clearly depicted on the 2nd edition of the 25-inch historic O. S. map, which was published in 1901. A weir some 200 metres upstream diverted water from the Afon Meloch to a pond 100 metres east of the river, and from there a 180-metre long mill race conveyed water to the mill. On the 1st edition map, dated 1888, the site is named only as a tannery, and this description is perpetuated in the 2nd edition map, together with the description "Woollen Factory". Part of the long building shown on the 2nd edition map is still depicted on the most modern map.
