DescriptionCarmel Welsh Independant Chapel was built in 1880 and later modified with the adition of a rear vestry in 1895, a new organ in 1910 and in 1996 when the facade was rebuilt following mining subsidance . The present facade which dates to the 1996 rebuilding, is constructed in the Classical style, with a gable-entry type, probably directly relating to the 1880 chapel, and retains the original datestone of 1880. Carmel is now Grade 2 Listed for it's "exceptional 4-sided gallery, painted organ, carved pulpit and other fine fittings".
