Description
A hotel of about 1800 with later alterations and aditions.
The core of the hotel is a two storey gabled building with rather massive end chimney stacks. It presents irregular two and three window fronts to east and west. A lower two storey range has been added on the north. This projects to the west, where it has a polygonal end, producing an L plan. The area between the arms of the L is open to the street. A single storey range has been added to the rear of the main building. This faces across a walled yard in which are an open coach house and stable range.
The hotel buildings are cement rendered externally, with end pilasters, bands and plinths. The roofs are slate-covered.
