Description
NAR SO02NW11

Ruinous wall and tower, set on an isolated stretch of rampart, towards the western angle of Brecon town walls (NPRN 307725). Landscaped and otherwise adapted as a garden feature for the pleasure grounds of Watton Mount (NPRN 25339), depicted on the first edition OS Brecon Town Plan of 1888.
A 20m stretch of walling, 4.0-5.0m high, extends north-west from the ruins of a rectangular tower, 5.9m by 3.4m, and 4.1m high. In its present form (as depicted in 1888) the tower provides a view point within the garden scheme.

The garden scheme at Watton Mount is reminiscent of that at Ely Cottage garden (NPRN 86045), which incorporated the Ely Tower and Mount.
