Fforest Castle is a sub-rectangular enclosure, c.8.0m by 4.0m internally, defined by a bank, 3.0-3.5m across, a 3.0m wide rock-cut ditch and a further bank, 7.0-9.0m wide. There is a causewayed entrance to the north-west. The name 'Fforest Castle' may indicate the monument's original function.
