Description
The cropmarks on ground falling gently to the south-east, north of Y Ferwig church show a c.160m, NNE-SSW linear complex, from 20-40m across, defined by up to three ditched features and sub-divided laterally; on the south this linear complex enters into an east-west rectilinear complex, c.174m across, made up of diverse elements, a possible trackway to the west, on the east a ditched feature, c.62m across, could represent a settlement enclosure.

These features are differently aligned from current boundaries, including that about St Pedrog's church.

RCAHMW AP965113/41-2

There is a superficial resemblance to the Iron Age 'ladder settlements' of the Yorkshire Wolds and elsewhere (Stoertz 1997, 51-2).
