DescriptionParciau, Wrexham, known for its Parciau Bowling Club, tennis and basketball courts, was developed as a public park from 1910 to commemorate the Jubilee Year of the incorporation of Wrexham. The entrance gates and lodge were provided by public subscriptions. The statue of Queen Victoria was originally placed in 1905 by the Guildhall, and moved in the 1920s to a location in the Parciau next to the pavilion. There was a major refurbishment scheme in the 1970's, when the pavilion was converted to provide a community centre and the bandstand was rebuilt.
