Description
Gorsaf Porth Penrhyn or Barmouth Ferry Station is the northerly terminus of the Fairbourne Railway (nprn 41313) which has its origins in an 1895 horse-drawn tramway serving a brickworks. It runs some 3km from Fairbourne Station (nprn 41312) to a terminus at the tip of the bar opposite Barmouth at the mouth of the Mawddach estuary, where it connects with a seasonal ferry to Barmouth. The track layout consists of a turn-round loop, so trains do not have to reverse, and two sidings.
