DescriptionThese gates and piers form the entrance to Hafod Church (NPRN 743). They are thought to date to the later nineteenth century, and to have been added by J. Waddingham, owner of Hafod (from 1872), responsible for the church restoration of 1887.
The two gatepiers are constructed of rubble stone. Each has tooled quoins, a plinth, flat cap and top pedestal with a square base under a tapering square top carrying a twentieth century lantern. The double gates have dog-bars, a mid-rail and wrought iron scroll-work.
