Description
The village of Bagillt developed from the Mercian settlements of Coleshill Fawr, Bagillt Fawr and Bagillt Fechan. From the 17th century Bagillt became important for the production of lead and later, coal. These industries, together with later industries such as ropemaking and brewing, led to Bagillt's growth into a town in the 19th and 20th centuries.
