Description
Site marked on 1948 O.S. 1:10560 map as 'disused'.
B.A.Malaws, 02 February 1999.

Tower Graig Level was opened in 1870 and shown on the 1st edition of the county series Ordnance Survey map. It ceased production in 1886 after which it was used as a fan drift for Coronation Colliery. It was disused by the early twentieth century and is shown as such on the third edition of the Ordnance Survey map of 1948. The entrance to the level is obscured by later subsidence and the site has a scatter of materials including many tramway rails and the frame of a dram. An inclined plane is on the downhill, northern, side (NPRN 507292), and buildings (NPRN 507302, 507303) are on the level platform at the mine entrance. A spoil tip (NPRN 507304) is below.
