Watercolour illustration, captioned "This drawing reconstructs the area at the head of the main line in 1875. Many railway sidings still connect with the canal but by this time small locomotives as well as horses are drawing the trains of wagons. A transhipment warehouse has been built over the boat dock (top right) so that valuable goods can be moved between the railway and the canal under cover. On the far right is the entrance to the private Plas Kynaston Canal) Illustration by Phil Kenning for the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales and the Canal and River Trust in preparation for the publication of "Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal World Heritage Site" by Peter Wakelin (2015).
