DescriptionThe area of the given NGR is so densely overgrown as to be impenetrable and it was not possible to get close enough to, nor even identify, the spring near which the mound allegedly lies. However, a re-reading of the original description allows a more precise NGR to be obtained as an aid to future fieldworkers. The road SE of Pant-teg farm, a narrow embanked way, is now disused and overgrown but it once crossed Spittal Brook by a bridge. This is not now shown on modern maps but it appears on the County Series 25" plans. It is to the NW of this point that the mound apparently lay, close to the spring still shown on maps.
