This Methodist Chapel was built in 1845 and then rebuilt in 1895. The present chapel, dated 1895, was designed by architect Arthur O Evans of Pontypridd and built in the Gothic style with two storeys, a three-stage tower with spire and integral Sunday school. During the 1980's the chapel was converted for use as an Arts Centre, with a theatre, gallery and cafe. Y Muni Arts Centre building is now Grade 2 Listed for the architectural interest of its Gothic exterior.
