DescriptionA Roman military site consisting of a round-angled rectangular enclosure, about 36m north-east to south-west by 32m, apparently defined by a rampart, ditch & counterscarp. An axial feature appears to bisect the enclosure and extends towards the Roman road (see NPRN 303528) about 50m distant. The enclosure has at least one, possibly two, axial entrances. The site was first described in 1879 and is known locally as a 'Roman Camp'.
A second, similar work (see NPRN 308500) is situated about 300m to the south.
