Description
A supposed ring barrow (DAT PRN 7693) located on the crest of ground sloping steeply to the SE into Llanstephan, appears to be part of a (more extensive) relict field system.
The circular enclosure, in fact of semi-circular shape, projects from a boundary now removed but still represented by a lynchet about 0.4m high running NE-SW. The enclosure measures 12m (NE-SW) by 6m within a low bank up to 2m wide and 0.2m high internally, 0.4m externally. On the immediate E is an enclosure likewise projecting from the lynchet and defined on the SE by an outward-facing scarp 0.4m high and on the SW by a bank of similar height. Internally it measures about 22m square. In the NW corner A short bank projecting from the lynchet suggests the former presence of a building here, though the evidence is slender.
Locally, other boundaries formerly in modern use have also been removed recently.
