Description
Burnt mound, some 12m in diameter & at most 1.2m thick, set hard by a stream, encountered during pipe-line construction, 1986, & subsequently trenched: the mound produced a radio-carbon date calibrated to the region of 1685-1459BC; pollen samples from the lower & underlying regions of the mound suggests that it was set in an area of alder carr, within a often wooded landscape that included some areas of cereal cultivation.

Source: Caseldine & Murphy 1989 (AW 29), 1-5.

A second mound, Troedrhiwgwinau II, lies some 70m to the north.
