This turf-covered burnt mound is located on the N side of the peat-clogged stream which runs through Cwm yr Esgyr.
It measures 23.5m (E-W) by 14m but an extension at the W end of the mound measures 5m across. The mound is 1m high on the S, streamward, side where it is slightly indented but merges with rising ground on the N. The centre is very slightly dished. Probing indicates that gravel material extends beyond the visible limits of the mound, especially on the E and W.
