Salem Methodist Chapel was first built in 1836 and rebuilt in 1894. This later chapel is built in the Sub-Classical style with ashlar lintels above flat-headed window and door openings. The entrance is in the gable end and the central doorway has an overlight and two wooden-boarded doors. The flanking windows have had their glass removed whilst the structure was being converted into a house c.2002. There is a paired window with brick mullions over the doorway. The side walls are red brick but the rear gable is stone. The front is enclosed by a dwarf brick wall with stone coping and iron railings.
