Christ Church Congregational Chapel was built in 1858 and modified with the addition of transepts in1863. The present chapel, dated 1858, was designed by architect Joseph James of London and built in the Gothic style with a short-wall entry plan, integral tower and spire. The spire was lost during the 1970's. Christ Church is now Grade 2 Listed.
