Description
Barham Congregational Chapel was built in 1859 and rebuilt in 1886. The Chapel was damaged by fire in 1892 and reopened in 1896. Renovations took place in 1914 and 1927. The present chapel, dated 1886, is built in the Simple Round-Headed style with gothic elements such as the wheel window above the central door in the gable-end and the simple gothic fanlight over the door. The chapel has a gable entry plan and two storeys. There is a gallery on three sides (with fronts of the Thomas Thomas type) and the platform pulpit opposite the door is backed by a recessed arch with a ribbon proclamation that reads 'HOLINESS BECOMETH THINE HOUSE'.
