Brynteg Independent Chapel was first built in 1693 with rebuilding taking place in 1815 and again in 1847. In 1897 a new chapel (see NPRN 9116) was built at the other end of the graveyard and the old chapel was converted into a Sunday school and vestry. This school was built in the Simple round-headed style, as a long-wall entry type with doors at the outer corners. The vestry caught fire in February 1998 and the whole building was demolished in April 1998.
