Substantial cairn 16m diam x 1.5m high on S side. 8 kerb stones visible on W side. Centre of cairn substantially damaged by excavation leaving a large depression 7m across 1.2m deep. This must be the excavated cairn which produced the axe-hammer. Seems unlikely that the cairn was robbed for road metalling although there is a trackway nearby. No trace of smaller cairn. Mound to S (PRN 4202) may be spoil from excavations and includes at least one large slab. (CPAT 2000)
