Penylan synagogue was constructed adjacent to affluent residential area in 1955. It had a tall classical pedimented limestone ashlar entrance porch, with a carved panel depicting the menorah to West end of the otherwise brick building. A copper covered large half - dome to East end.
Stained glass and classical doorcase to subsidiary porch on NE.

The building closed as a synagogue in 2003.
