The remains of this building, 16m by 5.5m internally, defined by a turf bank, 2.0m wide, do not seem appropriate for a domestic building, composed as they are of 'huge blocks od quartz from an adjacent outcrop'. The site is depicted as a chapel on Saxton's 1575 map and named 'Llanferch', but was used as a private residence by the e.17th century.
The orientation of the building is acceptable as that of a chapel.

3. Rectangular building foundation c16m NE-SW by 5.5m internally with entrance 1m wide, 6m from south corner. Sited on level spur. Apparently a chapel which was later used as a house (Saxton, 1575; Jones, T, 1809; Poole, E, 1886). CPAT site visit February 1994. Chapel foundations survive as boulder wall 12m x 3m in pasture (CPAT 1994). Former Chapel, re-used as a Shepherd's Hut, Length 18m, Width 8.5m. Occaisional rocks within earth banks.
