An eighteenth century cottage. Of one and a half storeys, with rubble walls and a slate roof. The doors and windows have slate lintles.
The building forms the earliest part of a larger house, 'Hermitage'. The main house is now 'The Orchard' (NPRN 15775), with service rooms in what are now 'The Hermitage' (NPRN 15718) and 'Old Barracks Cottage'. The buildings were divided into three properties at the beginning of the twentieth century.
