DescriptionA late eighteenth century town house which served as the Judges' Lodgings. Now a guest house.
A brick-built house, of three storeys with basement. It has a gabled slate roof between brick end chimney stacks. has The street front is three bays across. On the ground floor venetian windows flank a central doorway, set within a round-headed, pedimented, doorcase. There is a full-height, gabled projection to the rear, which continues as a single storey range above a basement.
The interiors are considered to be exceptionally fine. The ground floor had a kitchen, dining room and a full width drawing room.
The first edition OS Brecon Town Plan (1888) shows details of the large garden running down to the Honddu. A building shown on the river bank appears to belong to this property.
