Description
This shop is situated in the north-eastern part of Sennybridge, on a peninsular site between the A40 High Street (which it fronts onto) and a minor road running to join with the A4067. It is an L-shaped building, that has occupied this site since at least the late 19th century. It is marked on the 2nd edition 1905 OS 25' to the mile map as a bank next to the Usk and Railway Hotel. The building, which includes an adjoining house to the right of the shop, is of stone with a pitched slate roof and chimney at either end. The shop front is traditional , with a central double door with bay windows either side. The interior is also that of a traditional late 19th / early 20th century shop, with a domed glass counter on one side. It went up for sale in 1987 and appears to no longer be a drug store.
