Description
Meillionen is a house of eighteenth-century origin, enlarged and modernised in the nineteenth-century. The south gable wall features a plaster coat of arms of Iestyn ap Gwrgant.

The 1st, 2nd and 3rd editions of the historic 25-inch O. S. maps, published in 1889, 1900 and 1915 respectively, depict a leat taking water from the Afon Meillionen to a small pond, from which a further leat, 140 metres long, carried water to a location at the north end of the building range. This quantity of water engineering suggests that a waterwheel provided power for farm or dairy equipment.
