DescriptionDowncross Farmhouse is a two storey whitewashed stone wall house. It dates from two periods of construction, with the north-west wing being the earlier late C16 section with such medieval features as the shallow hall fireplace, the east doorway and the projecting first floor chimney. The south-east rear wing is probably an early to mid C19 addition. It has a Welsh slate gable roof with a red tile ridge and stone stacks with yellow and red brick capping.
