DescriptionSophia Gardens formerly had two lodges: one (nprn 419181) stood at the main entrance to the gardens on Cowbridge Road and is believed to have been built in 1857. The more northerly lodge, at the end of Sophia Close, was built in the 1880s. Following use as offices, it was converted to The Poacher's Lodge public house in the mid-1990s. It is now known as Y Mochyn Du.
