Description
The property now know as Castle Kitchen is unusual in the largely Georgian centre of Montgomery because it is a surviving timber-framed house of the seventeenth century. For a long period in the twentieth century it was the premises of Gellings, grocer, but since 1984 it has been the premises of the Castle Kitchen cafe, restaurant and delicatessen. In the early part of the nineteenth century it is possible that it was part of the Oak Inn which was sited either in this building, the building next door, or in both.
