Cruck illustrated in Houses of the Welsh Countryside, p. 86, fig. 37d.
[Additional:] Ty-mawr is a classic multi-period upland farmhouse. The cruck with cusped apex visible at the back of the inserted chimney is actually the entry truss to a peasant hall-house with a doorway under the tie-beam. Little else seems to survive of the medieval fabric but the present house occupies the footprint of the hall-house and has a well-defined hall. The post-and-panel partition at the upper end of the hall is of late type (probably later C17th) with very broad panels. Cruck assessed but rejected for tree-ring dating as fast grown.
