This alleged enclosure or rath is probably a pond, as indeed it is marked as such on the OS 1:2500 plan (1970s edition). However, it has now largely silted up. Visited after heavy rain, some standing water was evident though the predominance of 'dry' vegetation was clear. The hollow appears to have been terraced into the hillside and embanked. It is now surrounded by trees.
