Description1. (Through Castell Fleming). No traces of Roman origin.
2. (Spurious) Roman road RRX81, originating with Richard of Cirencester's itinerary: a bank running across the south-eastern part of the Castle Flemish enclosure (Nprn304464) was identified with this route until the 1920's: a trench dug across this feature showed it to be a low earthen bank, some 2.9m wide & 0.6m high, roughly kerbed to either side (Wheeler 1923, 215-6), presumably being a relict field bank pre-dating some of the current field boundary features, but sharing their general characteristics & alignment.
