Description
Pont Pantyscallog is a road bridge carrying a minor road over the Usk, from the A40 towards Crai, 2.3km east of Trecastle. It probably dates from the late 18th century, and is of one single broad arch of an impressive span and narrowness at the crown. It is built of rubble stone with cut-stone voussoirs to the single broad and high arch over the river. It has an exceptionally narrow crown, and the roadway is humped. It carries a narrow carriageway with rubble stone parapets each side, splayed outward at each end and with a flat stone coping.
