Description
Pont Rhyd-hir is a four-arched stone bridge across the Afon Rhyd-hir, probably built about 1780. Each of the two major arches spans approximately 5.8m, rising 1.82m above the water, and carries the carriageway of 4.4m width with 0.4m thick parapet walls capped with flush set stones. The piers are of coursed rubble and there are cutwaters on the upstream (north) side. The bridge continues as a causeway each side with a small flood arch to the east.
