This single arched stone bridge was built by Sir Benjamen Hammet in 1799-1800 and carried the public road to Cilgerran over the Morgenau river. The public road was diverted and rebuilt at this date by Hammet in order to create space for him to establish the park and gardens associated with his mansion at Castell Malgwyn (NPRNs: 21729, 265113, 265251).
