This record comprises a documentary reference to a shipping casualty which has been assigned to the maritime named location OFF TENBY pending more information which may allow a more precise location for the loss to be assigned.
Event and Historical Information:
Fifteen French and Breton vessels, part of a fleet of 120 ships which arrived at Milford Haven from Brest in August 1405, were burnt and lost whilst supporting the siege of Tenby. They were attacked by English ships under the command of Lord Berkley and the Poole-based pirate, Harry Pay.
