Event and Historical Information:
This Spitfire was assigned to 92 Squadron. The aircraft was pursuing an enemy Dornier which it shot down, however the Spitfire's engine was damaged by return fire. The pilot decided to fly the airplen down instead of parachuting. The aircraft touched down and ploughed into a hedge. The pilot sustained minor injuries.
