Description
The bridge spans the river Elwy and carries an unclassified road. It is probably late 18th century in date and is c. 40m in length, constructed of local limestone rubble with dressed voussoirs to 2 segmental arches. The northern arch is the widest and spans the river, the other is a flood arch. Between the two arches are large irregular cutwaters. The carriageway rises to a pronounced hump in the centre of the main arch with low slab-parapets and 20th century metal railings to the arch sections, with stepped up rubble parapets to the remainder. The bridge has splayed approaches, those to the north extending some 6m to the right and to the left 25m as a slab-coped rubble wall.
