Event and Historical Information:
The DOLPHIN was a small square-rigged ship completed at Bristol in January 1832 by James Hill. Technical and configuration specifications are given as 60.57 tons burthen; 47ft 10in length x 17ft 10in breadth x 8ft 6in depth; running bowsprot, sqaure sterned, carvel built. The vessel was placed on the Bristol Shipping Register on 7 February 1832 by its builder. The master, from August 1832, was Thomas Boyle. The ship's registry was closed later in the same year after it was reported that the vessel had been lost off Fishguard.
