Description
The building is situated on a north-facing slope looking into the valley c. 100m from forestry to the west. The rectangular building was a hut associated with the adjacent other buildings and built along contour. The walls lack mortar and are built from stone and are faced internally with rough stone and faced externally with rough stone. They are 1m thick and not built on orthostats. The position of any hearth is not evident. The doorway is in end of short wall. The eaves where they survive are 1m high. The building measures internally 3m by 2m. Other shepherds shelters and a walled enclosure are in the same location. Doorway / entrance faces north. The ground cover was bracken at the time of survey. G. Arnold, ArchaeoPhysica Ltd, 16/01/2009
